G74- Fanuc Peck Drilling Cycle

What is a G74 canned cycle?

                            Here is G74 canned cycle used for simple drilling operation on the cnc lathe machine. This cycle of Fanuc control is a very powerful peck drilling cycle (G74). By using this cycle, helps to make the program very easy and use low memory of the machine.

Benefits of G74 canned cycle:

There is a lot of benefit of using the cycle is given below:
1. Increase drill life.
2. Smoothly chip breaking and chip removal.
3. Avoid components from heating.
4. Smooth drilling operations
5. Easy to program.  

Use of G74 canned cycle:

                                          This G74 canned cycle is specially used for the drilling operations. In this cycle, there are two lines of G codes that give instructions to the machine on how to perform.

Format:

G74 Re;
G74 Zw QΔK Ff;

G74	Peck Drilling Cycle
Re	Retraction Value
Zw	Depth of hole
QΔK	Pecking value
Ff	Feed rate

Calculation of the excess amount of leap angle of the drill:
= 0.3* Drill Diameter.

0.3= constant value.
